Fall Creek Valley South

The geologic history of this site strongly influences soil conditions and the vegetation that grows here. Fall Creek has cut away deep gravelly deposits, leaving a steep slope (Arboretum Slope) and a level plateau (Fall Creek Plateau). The wooded terrains on both sides of Forest Home Drive are high-quality examples of mature and old-growth forest.
