Urban Tree Collection
This collection consists of trees that show promise for use in urban environments, where site conditions are often poor. Their locations mimic urban conditions, including poorly drained, compacted soils; high soil pH; road salt spray; and open, windy conditions. The collection gives Cornell’s Urban Horticulture Institute scientists and students the means to evaluate potential trees for difficult sites.
