Natural Heritage

This site is a good example of the ecological community type called a wet meadow.  It is one that is not common in the local area and not otherwise well-represented in the Cornell Botanic Gardens Natural Areas.  The site supports a high diversity of plants, breeding birds and insects. Because it is so close to campus, it provides excellent opportunities for class field trips and research projects.
