This wide strip of forest begins near the entrance to the F. R. Newman Arboretum on Caldwell Road.  It is part of the woodland corridor on the steep north-facing slope of the Fall Creek Valley.  Parking is available in the arboretum or at the entrance to the Mundy Wildflower Garden on Caldwell Road.  

A trail begins at the edge of the woods near the Hyperbolic Parabola (a concrete sculpture at the arboretum entrance) and goes through the woods on the lower slope.  At the east end of the woods the trail goes up to the top of the slope.
