North Campus Natural Areas

Palmer Woods and the natural areas near it encompass very diverse vegetation types: old forest, young forest, meadows, and wetlands. The many interfaces of different habitats make this a good birding site. More than half of this remarkable area is undisturbed old-growth forest dominated by large oaks.
