New Welcome Center Updates
October 2, 2009
Over the last two weeks there has been more work done on excavating the building site and actually starting to lay the foundation for the building.
Work was also done to tie in utility lines.

September 25, 2009
It has been a busy few weeks of construction here at Plantations. The new parking lot was laid out and the foundation work for it started, the bioswale was excavated and most exciting of all - excavation for the Nevin Welcome Center started.
To achieve energy savings in the Welcome Center, the building will be partially bermed into Comstock Knoll. The berming will help regulate interior temperatures.

September 10, 2009
More earth moving going on this week, preparing for the new parking area and bioswale.
September 4, 2009
The bulldozers have arrived and have started excavating the site for the new parking area, bioswale, and building.
August 28, 2009
A NEW DRIVEWAY
This week the new temporary driveway went in.
This new driveway runs along the West side of the Winter Garden into the existing parking lot and is accessible from Plantations Road. 
August 25, 2009
This week the construction fence finished 
going up. While the botanic garden main entrance driveway is still open, we expect the new temporary drive to go in later this week.
