Brian C. Nevin Welcome Center

We are pleased you are interested in Cornell Plantations’ Brian C. Nevin Welcome Center for your gathering. Nestled into the base of Comstock Knoll, at the heart of our Botanical Gardens, this modern, award-winning “green” building can accommodate up to 99 guests. The building’s expansive windows offer wonderful views of the surrounding landscape year round. Our rental options are sure to provide a unique, state-of-the-art and beautiful setting for your event.

Edward A. Ten-Eyck Room

Within the Nevin Welcome Center, this second floor, carpeted, multipurpose room is outfitted with a supply of rectangular 4’x22” tables and padded chairs which can be arranged in various configurations to suit your needs, whether for lectures, business meetings, or celebrations. Windows offer views out into the gardens and down into the lobby. The room is equipped with a podium and fixed microphone, a wireless microphone, laptop computer, wireless internet access, digital projector, DVD player, VCR, screen, blackboard, blackout shades, and a sink. It is accessible by stairs or an ADA compliant elevator.

Maximum capacity:
99 lecture style seating or standing reception
60 seated with tables

The Edward A. Ten-Eyck Room can also be divided into 2 separate rooms for smaller groups, with duplicate amenities.

Ten-Eyck Room East


Maximum capacity:
25-30 depending on table and chair arrangement

(When partitioned, this room does not include a sink.)

Ten-Eyck Room West



Maximum capacity:
22-33 depending on table and chair arrangement

Rental of the full Edward A. Ten-Eyck Room, or the Ten-Eyck Room West, includes the use of the area immediately outside the back doors on Comstock Knoll when weather allows. A few tables may be placed outside, which users must rent from an outside vendor.

Lobby

The Nevin Welcome Center’s airy, 2-story open lobby may be rented as a
reception area with rental of the full Edward A. Ten-Eyck Room. With
walls of windows facing north and south, educational displays, and a
changing art exhibit, it is a lovely reception space. This rental option
is only available during hours when the building is closed to the
public.  We allow one 8’ table, one 6’ table, and two tall round
cocktail tables to be set up in the space, which users must rent from an
outside vendor.

Conference Room

The large windows of the second floor Conference Room offer a bird’s eye view of adjacent trees, the Groundcover Collection, and pots of colorful tropical plants in season. The room has conference calling capability and is equipped with comfortable chairs, a conference table with power and internet connections, and a blackboard. It is accessible by stairs or an ADA compliant elevator.
