The Mullestein Hillside Garden

The Mullestein Hillside Garden (east of the herb garden) features spreading groundcovers good for stabilizing slopes—including gray dogwood and cut-leaf stephanandra.This garden is part of the groundcover collection which includes a wide range of plants that make ideal groundcovers for either shady,sunny,or sloped areas.

The North Walk

The north walk (north of the herb garden) contains groundcovers that can tolerate full sun and heat, and includes ornamental grasses. The north walk is part of the groundcover collection which includes a wide range of plants that make ideal groundcovers for either shady, sunny, or sloped areas.

Shady Groundcover Collection

On the north and west side of the Lewis Building in the Botanical Garden, the shady groundcovers are part of the groundcover collection which includes a wide range of plants that make ideal groundcovers for either shady, sunny, or sloped areas.The shade-loving groundcovers, such as hostas and pachysandra, are protected by trees including Cornelian cherry, false cypress, and bigleaf magnolia.
