Outdoor public swimming near campus

The gorges and creeks surrounding Cornell are beautiful places to enjoy. However, strong undercurrents, hidden rock ledges and debris make them unsafe places to swim. People have been severely injured and four people have died in recent years from swimming in the gorges.

Swimming is illegal in Fall Creek, Cascadilla Creek, and Six Mile Creek. Violators are subject to arrest.

Free Shuttle to Public Swim Areas

During the warmer days in early fall, Cornell is offering free shuttle buses to the public swim area at Robert H. Treman State Park. In Fall 2013, shuttles will be provided on August 24, 25, 31 and September 1 and 2.

Current Schedule

Buses will depart from West Campus at Bus Stop #1 and from North Campus at the Baker Hall flag pole bus stop by the Robert Purcell Community Center with return trips from Treman to campus.
