Ellis Hollow Wetlands

The terrain and vegetation along this section of Cascadilla Creek are very diverse. Most of the uplands in Ellis Hollow have a history of agricultural use and have only been abandoned relatively recently. Some of these areas are now forest, old orchard, or shrub thicket, while others are still maintained as hay meadows.  There are some small sections of forest near the creek that have always been forested. This area was known historically for its rich flora, and numerous locally scarce plant species are still found here.
