Cascadilla Meadows

At Cascadilla Meadows, Cascadilla Creek is, for the most part, confined to a narrow, rather straight, sluice-like channel that was blasted into the bedrock when the Wilson Synchrotron was built. Formerly, the creek wandered across a floodplain where branches of the creek were braided, separating and reconnecting. Now on the floodplain and gravelly hillsides, only small patches of native vegetation remain.
