Beech Loop

This loop trail starts at the Class of `38 bench near a 30 year-old-beech tree (Fagus sylvatica `Prince George of Crete').

Declining American beeches suffering from beech bark disease have been removed, but a fair number have survived. European beeches have performed well.

Several species of horse chestnuts (Aesculus hippocastanum) have been added for diversity.
