Gourds Galore! (Session 1 of 2)
Two Wednesdays, February 3 and 10; 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Discover the beautiful and diverse world of gourd crafting! The first session includes information about growing, drying and cleaning hard-shelled gourds as well as ideas to craft a humble gourd into a usable item or work of art. Students will each select a gourd, think about what they want to create, and bring it back cleaned for the second session. During the second session, students will work on their own projects. Plantations will provide gourds, tools, and a selection of materials. Youth ages 12 and older are welcome. Pre-registration is required.
Instructors: Raylene Ludgate, Cornell Plantations Youth Education Coordinator, and
Christine Hadekel, Cornell Garden-Based Learning Program
Fee: $30 members and Cornell students, $35 nonmembers. Fee includes both sessions.
