Volunteers at Cornell Plantations enjoy being part of a dynamic, growing organization whose primary mission is to educate audiences about the interrelationships among plants, people and the environment. There are many ways to be involved as a Plantations volunteer, such as leading tours for adults and youth, working in the gardens and greenhouse, serving as a natural areas steward, or helping out with special events.

It’s Rewarding!
Working with plants and with others who share your interests can have many intrinsic benefits. As a volunteer, you are also entitled to benefits such as discounts on classes and workshops, free training, and regular educational opportunities.
It’s Educational!
Full training is provided free of charge to all volunteers, and the ongoing experience of working alongside Plantations’ staff of trained professionals ensures a fertile learning environment. Special enrichment programs are also presented on selected topics, often featuring guest experts.
It’s Fun!
Laughter and enjoyment are an important part of our volunteer experience. Whether it be a training session ice-breaker, a dish-to-pass brunch, or just some good company, you’ll find plenty to smile about at Cornell Plantations.
