I am a native of the Washington, DC area and in 2006 I earned my B.S. from SUNY-ESF in Environmental and Forest Biology, concentrating in Plant Biology. The next few years were spent all around the east coast in various lines of work including, plant nurseries, retail, interior design and graphic design. After interning at Mt. Cuba Center and Quaker Hill Native Plant Garden doing curatorial and mapping work, I realized my desire to continue in the field of botanical garden curation and play a key role in its evolution. I am well known as a moss enthusiast and consequently I am especially interested in advocating for the incorporation of bryophytes into public garden collections and developing methods and techniques in their curation.
